Back and shoulder massage for desk workers

Hours at a laptop pull the head forward and round the shoulders. This often causes a stiff neck, tight upper traps and tension headaches by the end of the week. Our Back & Shoulder Acupressure Massage targets exactly those muscles in 30 or 45 minutes. You can also pair it with foot reflexology in a combo session. Our two body massage styles in detail

Acupressure Body Massage

Acupressure Body Massage is done without oil. The therapist works through the neck, shoulders, back, arms and legs using thumb, palm and elbow pressure on acupressure points and knotted muscles. It feels firm and targeted, and it suits people who carry a lot of stiffness or like a strong massage. Expect to feel loose but slightly tender afterwards.

Rejuvenating Body Massage (oil-based)

Rejuvenating Body Massage uses massage oil with long, gliding strokes and slow kneading from head to toe. The pace is slower and the pressure lighter, so it is the better choice when you want to relax, de-stress or sleep well that night. Package holders get premium oil or cream.

60, 90 or 120 minutes: which length?

Length Best for
60 min A full-body session with a little extra time on your problem area. A good first booking.
90 min Very tight backs and shoulders, or when you want an unhurried, deeply relaxing session.
120 min A full reset: thorough work on every area, at an easy pace.

Only have half an hour? Book the 30-minute Back & Shoulder Acupressure Massage ($48) instead.

What happens during a body massage

  1. Organic foot soak. Every body massage starts with a complimentary organic foot soak.
  2. A quick chat. Your therapist asks where you’re tight and how firm you like it, in English, Mandarin or Cantonese.
  3. The massage. Body massages are done on a massage bed. Say so any time you’d like more or less pressure.
  4. Afterwards. Drink water and skip hard exercise for a few hours.

Body massage for back pain, sport and desk work

People often book a body massage for an aching lower back, sore muscles after running, or stiffness from long days at a computer. Massage can ease muscle tension, but it doesn’t replace medical care. If pain is severe, keeps coming back or follows an injury, see a doctor or physiotherapist first. More reading:

Body massage FAQ

How much is a full body massage at FootNote Reflexology?

A 60-minute Acupressure Body Massage costs $75 ($65 for members). A 60-minute oil-based Rejuvenating Body Massage costs $82 ($74 for members). Both are also available as 90- and 120-minute sessions.

What is acupressure massage?

Acupressure massage uses firm finger and palm pressure on specific points along the body to release muscle tension. No oil is used, so it suits guests who prefer a stronger, more targeted massage.

How often should I get a body massage?

For general stress relief, many guests come every two to four weeks. If you carry a lot of desk-related tension, a short back and shoulder session every week or two can help keep it from building up.

What should I do after a massage?

Drink water, avoid heavy exercise for a few hours, and take a warm shower if you feel sore. See our tips on what to do after a massage.

Are there body massage packages?

Yes. Our Elite ($500), Gold ($1,000, plus $50 bonus credit) and Platinum ($1,500, plus $150 bonus credit) packages save 13% to 23%, based on a 60-minute body massage. They also include premium oil or cream. Packages are valid for one year from purchase.

Can I book a 30-minute body massage?

Full-body sessions start at 60 minutes. For a 30-minute session, book the Back & Shoulder Acupressure Massage ($48), which focuses on the neck, shoulders and upper back.

Do your therapists speak Mandarin or Cantonese?

Yes. Our therapists speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
